Sausagenius’ Matt wins Bristol’s Grillstock Chilli Challenge

Some of you may know that Sausagenius co-founder Matt is a chilli freak – he’s the inspiration behind the Scotch Bonnet loaded “Hellfire” sausage & he even brought back several bottles of super-hot chilli oil from Rwanda to enable the creation of the popular “Akabanga Banger”.

On Saturday 11th July he took part in Bristol’s Grillstock Chilli Eating Contest, hosted by the Clifton Chilli Club. It involved 10 brave/stupid individuals eating chillies of varying heat starting at the mild & rapidly climbing the Scoville scale to wild. Round after round 9 contestants dropped by the wayside to leave one triumphant winner… Our very own Matt! 🙂

Watch the video to see the mayhem unfold, but be warned there’s a bit of mouth spew around the 6 min 20 sec mark so make sure you’re not in the middle of dinner.

Who knows, we may even have a sausage stall at next year’s Bristol Grillstock?…
